Do you enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to be a part of the team that maintains the Lancaster County parks for the visitors? The County of Lancaster Facilities Management department is seeking a dependable Seasonal Maintenance Assistant.

JOB SUMMARY

• Collect and haul trash and recyclables from grounds as well as public and employee restrooms, pavilions, offices and pool.
• Monitor and pick up road trash in the park.
• Basic janitorial work in public restrooms, pavilions and facilities including the County pool.
• Ability to comprehend daily facility schedule.
• Operate hand and power tools including leaf blower, weed eater, power washer, etc.
• Safely operate a pickup truck
• Ability to follow County and Departmental Policies and Procedures

• Assist with facility needs as directed.
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age due to operation of motorized equipment.
• Experience working outdoors preferred.
• Experience using basic hand tools preferred

• Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to work well with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work well alone or with others

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have and maintain a valid PA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with County policy and submit to driving record background check

• Ability to lift 75 pounds to waist height, 50 pounds to shoulder height, and 40 pounds above the head.
• Ability to climb a ladder to a working height of 20 feet.
• Must be able to traverse uneven terrain for long distances.
• Ability to perform strenuous tasks over extended periods of time.
• This position has been identified as having the potential for exposure to Hepatitis B. Access to training and a voluntary vaccination against Hepatitis B is provided.
• Ability to stoop, bend from the waist and reach overhead frequently, and for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• This position requires wearing a supplied T-shirt with an FM logo during working hours.
• This position requires the use of closed toe and closed back shoes that support the ankle.
